1. Choose Something That’s Important to You – What do you like? What are you able to be consistent with? Listen to your intuition and choose something that’s right for you.

2. Be Honest with Yourself – Don’t sabotage yourself by setting goals that you know you cannot or likely will not accomplish.

3. Start Small – Set a specific, achievable goal and once you’ve accomplished that, move on to a larger one. Instead of saying,“I’m going to get fit this year,” say, “I’m going to incorporate a 1 mile walk into my life, 3 times a week.”

4. Think About the How – Given your schedule and the various demands on your life what can you accomplish within those parameters?

5.Think About the Why – Why are you wanting to accomplish this goal? Is it in line with things that are important to you and how you want to live your life?

6. Accountability – Find an accountability partner or some kind of support person or system that works for you.

7. Be Your Best Motivator – Set an intention for each day, speak your goals, post them and don’t be afraid to ask for support from others if you are falling behind where you want to be.

What To Do If You Get Off Track?

1. Be Kind to Yourself – Remember that Progress, not perfection is the goal! And, shame has no place in personal growth.

2. Don’t Give Up – Don’t let small setbacks ruin your momentum.

3. Take a Deep Breath – Mindfully reset and start again.

4. You Can Always Start Again – Every week, every day, every hour, every minute holds the potential for you to start again.

The Four Pillars & Goal Setting

Emotional – Knowing yourself and being honest with yourself will help you to succeed in all areas of your life.
Spiritual – Staying spiritually connected to something larger than yourself reminds us that we are here for a purpose and taking care of ourselves helps us to fulfill that purpose.
Physical – Taking care of our bodies and making wellness a priority helps us to do all that we need and want to do.
Mental – Setting goals for yourself that help you work toward a more positive and relaxed state of mind will help you with accomplishing any goals in your life.
